Sanuki Udon @ Taman Desa

Udon in Malaysia can easily cost from RM15 to RM30 in any Japanese restaurants. And they are not guaranteed nice. There's this place which sells udon at only RM5-RM7 per bowl. Yes! You heard me right! So cheap!!
Most importantly, it's goddamn delicious!

However, the typical udon is not their stars. Here, their stars are their cold udons. Serve chilled, it is definitely a refreshing and filling food to combat our hot and humid weather in Malaysia.

House special egg udon. (RM5)
Half boiled egg topped on a plate of homemade udon in their cool broth with a touch of wasabi.
Refreshing and simple!
Don't be afraid to mix in the wasabi! It really does give the whole dish a special kick!

Tan tan men. Minced meat udon. (RM6)
Yes! It tastes awesome although its cold!
If you're not that adventurous, you can go for the hot version. It tastes as good!
The shredded cucumber just adds so much texture in the dish!
I add loads of chilli oil flakes into my udon. It gives the dish a spicy tinge!
There is just so much going on in this dish you feel like there's a party going on!

I have been to this place many times and I have tried other side dishes and udons but they are not as good as these two. These two are the best!

Food: 8/10
Really Delicious. 'Nuff Said.

Service: 9/10
Waiters were very attentive and will come automatically and ask whether you want to refill your green tea even during busy hours. Kudos to whoever who trained them! :D

Ambience: 5.5/10
Very packed almost all the time. Small tables and chairs. However the food makes up for it!

Price: RM 10-14 for 2 pax
SO CHEAP RIGHT?! You can't even eat a bowl of udon at some Japenese chain restaurants.
And holyy.. No god-damned service charge! And yet such great service! I wonder why they put it at such a low price. I really don't mind paying double the price for it and eat it frequently.
